Miguel studied cello AT the Conservatorio Pablo Sarasate of Navarra in his home town of Pamplona before moving to London over 10 years ago. Having studied fixed-do solfege for many years, Miguel found it a surprising and eye opening experience to learn movable-do solfege in his Kodaly classes while a student at Trinity College of Music. That led him to be trained as a Colourstrings teacher with the inspirational figure of Csaba Szilvay. You can find him teaching cello through the Colourstrings method in the Colourstrings Saturday School as well as in North London Colourstrings Center, Gallions Primary School and Dulwich College.
Miguel's interest for ancient, rarely heard music developed even further while completing his Masters in Early Music at the Guildhall School of Music. You can hear him playing a very old cello with gut strings with his group the Haydn Lute Trio.
Miguel loves sports but particularly cycling (especially on the tiny wheels of a Brompton bike), cooking (oh! those brownies recipes from different pupils' mums), travelling (anywhere, anytime, but especially home) and going to the Globe Theatre (even though they don't speak in Spanish!)
